Destanie Johnson grew up immersed in the competitive soccer scene of Southern California. Her club career included time with Hemet Juventus, the elite Hawks club, and even a Nike-affiliated team. She earned a spot on her high school’s varsity team as a freshman and helped lead them to a first-place finish in the Mountain Pass League during her years there. During her high school career, she experienced the thrill of CIF playoffs, where she played a key role in a penalty shootout victory. Competing in high-level matches shaped her understanding of the game and instilled a lifelong passion for the sport.
Trained by experienced and demanding coaches, Destanie was raised in an environment where hard work, discipline, and elite-level expectations were the norm. While life ultimately took her on a path away from collegiate soccer, her love for the game never faded.
In 2015, she moved to Prineville with her two young children and immediately noticed a lack of competitive soccer opportunities in the area. Determined to make a difference, she began coaching youth recreational soccer and later accepted a coaching role at the local high school. With a desire to bring the same level of intensity and development she experienced growing up, Destanie founded Prineville Premier Soccer Club.
